Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA)

Senator Harris is California’s junior senator, elected in 2016. Prior to her role as Senator, Harris was the first woman to serve as Attorney General of California, and served two terms as District Attorney of San Francisco. Her committee assignments include the Senate Committee on the Budget, Environment and Public Works, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and the Select Committee on Intelligence. Harris’ career has focused on public safety and social justice. She has not focused on healthcare, but has come out in defense of the ACA.

Representative Doris Matsui (CA-D6)

Representative Matsui is the representative for California’s 6th congressional district and has served since Jan 3, 2013. She was previously the representative for California’s 5th congressional district (2005-2012). Matsui is on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
