      Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA)

      Senator Harris is California’s junior senator, elected in 2016. Prior to her role as Senator, Harris was the first woman to serve as Attorney General of California, and served two terms as District Attorney of San Francisco. Her committee assignments include the Senate Committee on the Budget, Environment and Public Works, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and the Select Committee on Intelligence. Harris’ career has focused on public safety and social justice. She has not focused on healthcare, but has come out in defense of the ACA.

      Representative Devin Nunes (CA-R22)

      Representative Nunes is the representative for California’s 22nd congressional district and has served since 2013. He was previously the representative for California’s 21st congressional district (2003-2012). He voted to pass the reauthorization of VAWA in 2013, although he does not consistently vote in favor of expanding tribal rights. He previously sponsored a bill that would have essentially block granted Medicaid. Nunes is on the Committee on Ways and Means and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
