Why is my SharePoint login not working? |
1. A SharePoint login, or account, consists of a username and password. Note that your username includes the prefix “uihi\”, with no spaces; for example, “uihi\RalphForquera”. Make sure the username is written to include the prefix “uihi\” and does not include “www.uihi.net\” or empty space. Make sure the “backslash” is the right one: “\” is correct, not “/”. Usernames are not case sensitive but passwords are. 2. If you are still unable to login, try the address in a new browser window. The address should be should say “http://www.uihi.net” or “https://www.uihi.net”. It might also just be temporary problem with the network. If you continue to experience difficulties please contact the Urban Indian Health Institute staff at 206-812-3030 or by email at sharepoint@uihi.org. 3. If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer, such as Firefox, try entering your username without the “uihi\” prefix. For example, instead of “uihi\RalphForquera”, use “RalphForquera”. |

What should I enter if it asks for my domain? |
1. If you are prompted to enter a domain, please enter: uihi 2. Also, if it prompts you for a domain, instead of the regular username with the “uihi\” prefix, only use the second part of the username. For example, instead of “uihi\RalphForquera”, use “RalphForquera”. |

Some other functionality of the site might also be disabled until you do this. We recommend that you add our SharePoint site as a trusted site in all cases. 2. To add a site as a truseted site follow these steps: – Tools, 3. For more information on adding trusted sites, try this link: http://windows.about.com/od/networking/ht/trustedsitesie7.htm |

Why does it ask for a password to a public document or site? |
1. We consider this a glitch with the current version of SharePoint. 2. If you cancel out of the login screen, the document will open if it is public. If it is a public site, you may need to open it in a new browser window. |

How do I change my password? |
1. To change your password, first go to the main SharePoint site: www.uihi.net 2. Log in by clicking the link “Sign In” in the upper right corner. After you have signed in, the link in the upper right corner should say “Welcome…”. Click that Welcome link, and select “My Settings”. (Please note that passwords must be at least 7 characters and are case sensitive.) If you experience difficulty with this please contact the Urban Indian Health Institute staff at 206-812-3030 3. We advise people to keep the original password that was given to them because it may be reset to that if, for example, you become a member of a new group that is about to have passwords distributed to them. We do this to ensure that the newly distributed password will work. In this case if you don’t remember your original password you will be without one until you receive one from the new group or call for help. |
