Summary of reports and publications from the Urban Indian Health Institute
The UIHI regularly produces reports on the health status of urban AI/ANs. These reports are available for download from the reports page. For a summary of UIHI’s important reports by health topic, view our Select Reports brochure.
Also, the UIHI develops Community Health Profiles covering:
- Area-specific data about counties served by an Urban Indian Health Organization.
- Information about demographics, health care access, mortality, maternal and child health, and behavioral health.
Current individual and aggregate Community Health Profiles are available on the Urban Indian Health page.
Please visit the resources page on our website for additional materials such as fact sheets, project briefs, and communication broadcasts highlighting data.
In collaboration with community groups and expert advisory panels, we have developed outreach materials aimed at engaging clients and promoting healthy behavior. Topic areas include colorectal and breast and cervical cancer screening, sexually transmitted infections/HIV/viral hepatitis, family health history guides on collecting family health history and understanding the relationship between genetics and disease risk, and more.
Through our work with the community, we have developed a number of surveys and needs assessment that are specific to the health of urban AI/ANs. Please contact us directly for more information about these materials. A partial list includes:
- Elders Long-Term Care Needs Assessment
- Adult Tobacco Survey
- Area Needs Assessment
- Data collection tools for adolescent cardiovascular disease
