In 2011 and 2012 the Urban Indian Health Institute (UIHI) recognized one employee at an urban Indian health program (UIHP) who used data to engage in capacity building for their organization. Award nominees were recognized for their use of data in any of the following activities:
- Expanding or improving a clinic, program, or service
- Applying for funding opportunities
- Identifying health priorities
- Informing health policy
The UIHI is pleased to announce Robert Ironmaker, Site Manager and Health Data Specialist at the Indian Health Board of Billings (IHBB), as the recipient of the 2012 UIHI Leadership in Data Use Award.
The 2012 award recipient received $2,000 to fund attendance at a training or conference for professional development. The conference or training will contribute to promoting leadership and capacity building in the area of urban Indian health.
